Sometimes you are not looking for one item. You are looking for whether an entire family of them is mispriced somewhere.

When one item is the wrong question

Checking a single item across realms is precise but slow, and it only pays off if you already knew which item to check. Often the useful question is broader: is anything from this set cheap right now?

The keyword hunt scans across realms for everything matching a word — a gear family, a profession’s output, a naming prefix — and groups the results so you can see the shape of a whole category at once.

What it is good at

It is less useful as a general search. If you know the item, go straight to it — the hunt exists for when the category is the question.

Expanding results keeps your place

Opening a result to see its realms leaves you exactly where you were in the list rather than throwing you back to the top. That sounds minor until you are comparing the ninth result against the twenty-third, which is what people actually do.

It scans, so it takes a moment

A keyword hunt reads across realms rather than answering from one. There is no honest way to make that instant on the first run, and a tool that returns immediately is showing you something it prepared earlier without saying so.

What we do instead is be clear about it and keep the result once it exists, so repeating or refining the search is fast.

Turning a find into a watch

A hunt is a snapshot of this moment. If the answer is “nothing is cheap right now”, that is worth knowing — and it is also the moment to put the two or three candidates into your chest, so the next time one of them drops you are told rather than having to remember to look again.
