How Royal Flips are ranked

Buy low on a quiet realm, sell at the region price. The hard part is not finding a gap — it is knowing which gaps are real.

The obvious ranking is the wrong one

Sort any cross-realm data by profit margin and the top of the list will be spectacular and useless. The biggest gaps almost always exist because nobody wants the item — the “cheap” realm is not cheap, it is dead.

A 400,000 gold margin on something that sells twice a month is worth less than a 30,000 gold margin on something that moves daily, and it ties up far more of your gold while you wait. Margin alone is not a ranking, it is a temptation.

What we rank by instead

Every candidate is scored on profit multiplied by how reliably the item actually sells. An enormous margin on a stagnant item scores below a modest margin on something with real turnover, because a large number times a small probability is a small number.

That is also what the ROYAL tag marks. It is not simply the highest margin on the page — it is the best combination of the two. When you see it, the item is worth the deposit.

If a flip list is sorted by margin alone, it is showing you the items that are hardest to sell. That is not a subtle flaw — the biggest gaps usually have a reason.

Reading a row

Column	What it tells you
Buy at	The cheapest current listing, and which realm has it
Sell at	The regional reference price — what the item normally fetches
Profit	The spread, before the auction house cut and your own undercut
Sale rate	How reliably the item moves. The column that decides whether the profit is real

Sort by any column you like — the default ordering is the score above, but the table is yours to interrogate.

The part the numbers cannot tell you

A flip needs a character on the buying realm. That is the real constraint, and no tool can price it for you: an item that is 200,000 gold cheaper on a server where you have nothing is not an opportunity, it is trivia.

Work the list against the realms you actually play, and the shorter list will earn more than the longer one.

Budget for the auction house cut and for being undercut before your listing sells. A margin that looks thin on screen can vanish once both are taken out, which is another reason the ranking leans on turnover rather than on the spread.

Filters worth using

The list can be narrowed by category or keyword, and by a minimum sale rate. That last one is the most useful setting on the page: raising it discards the lottery tickets and leaves the trades that repeat.
